I'm not avoiding you! I swear....

Ok. Maybe I am avoiding you because things are weird and I don't know how to coerce them into written form.

I'm back on match. Eh. Weird. Maybe have a date this week with someone in the medical field who loves to travel almost* as much as I do. In all of my jaded glory, I can't put any faith into this date-to-be. But gosh it's fun to think I will be going out on a date.

From an IM convo last night with Nat:

Nat: Where did you meet this potential Date?
J: Match, obviously.
Nat: Why obviously?
J: Because if I am just Sleeping with him, he's under 25 and I work with him or he picked me up at the bar next door to work. If I am Dating him, and he has any potential at all, I found him on match.

This is sad. Oh so sad.

In work news, I am still on the SHITLIST. But, I'm doing my best to be perfect and keep my nose clean. Wait. I don't do coke. I don't like that analogy. Begin again?

I'm doing my best to mind my p's and q's! Weird that I can go from Top to Bottom faster than you can say ditbrain is teaching classroom basics to incoming servers while I beg for shifts to make rent. Huh.

My one and only true love, Emmett, turned one years old today. Very very very cool. At his party, I may have found a babysitting gig. I made a little girl laugh. Hard feat, so says moms. Huh. I guess I really am weird. In a silly, weird 'I can make babies laugh hysterically' way.

ADDITION: I saw Pan's Labyrinth tonight. I may have bad dreams for a month. And I LIKE horror movies. Whimper.

*as if that's possible. HA!

Who will be for me?

If I am not for myself, then who will be for me? And when I am for myself, what am I? And if not now, when? (Hillel the Elder)

How very like my best friend in London. For all of his papers, he starts with a quote. I love this quote and it sums up my heart right now. (My heart in a general sense, not in a literal sense).

Stick up for yourself. You are not alone in this world. Now is the time.

I'm having a lot of problems in the restaurant. Two weeks ago, I felt as though I had come back home after a long break. Today I am wondering why I stay. Fathead has turned on me. My gut says that Ditbrain is the impetus. I have issue with little miss republican that cuddles you one minute and either tries to kick you out of your shift or talks about you the next minute. This is just the beginning of this mess!!! But my feelings are being made known and I am trying to remain a part of the solution. Because I do like my job for the most part. I would like to make more money. And I would like to not be on my manager's shit list. Too much to ask?

I'm sleepy. And it's possible that I may have to go to New York City tomorrow. I would rather go see my family. I guess this would be where I accept that when I am for myself... I am selfish. Sometimes there is a greater need for me to do what is asked of me, rather than what I want to do.

De-lurking? Whats that?

Ok. I'm a bad blog reader and I didn't de-lurk. But all of the blogs I read are listed to the right (to the right, everything I read is in a box to the right. sorry. it's just so damn catchy). So I know people want me to tell them how wonderful and funny they are, but damn it! I'm lazy! If you are in my roll there, I read you. Almost daily. And I like you! Or else you would get booted off the island! (Wee! I just said that like I watch that show. Or even like I watch tv!)

I've joined match. Again. And unlike the time before, I don't seem to be that popular. I'm a little bummed about this. Just a little.

Back to being patient. U of Md has my transcripts, again. Waiting till mid March. If its not good news, California here I come (another tv phrase! Golly).

I broke up with the SeafoodJoint. Made $17 and didn't come back from break. I feel better emotionally but my bank account is not happy with me. I'll pick up shifts at the other joint for now and possibly nanny* (aka glorified babysitting) on Mon, Wed, and Fridays. Good plan? Maybe?

Guess what I did yesterday?? (That I haven't fully done in over a month). Laundry! And oh my! How fulfilling was that. Whew.

*Come on. Can you really call an almost 29 year old woman a babysitter?

I'm a spaz

I had dinner with lovely Happy Bunny tonight. We ate tons of french food and caught up on everything we had missed in the past month or so in each other's lives. Good times.

Now its 3:30am and I am lonesome and missing a couple old friends. What goes wrong in our relationships that make us lose touch? I don't remember. Maybe its my tight schedule that only allows weeknight get-togethers. Maybe I've done something to offend. Maybe when I lose someone, I gain someone else. Maybe I am just being a spaz and I need to go to bed.

I can go months without seeing certain people and immediately hug and kiss them and fall back into our pattern of laughing and loving and caring. Like family time, those visits may be far and few between but the love remains true and strong until we reunite.

Off to bed, to dream of reunions.

Blog?? What blog?

Remember when I did that one a day thing in November? Hehe. Don't count on it in the New Year.

Btw, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Resolutions for 2007? Uhh. Uhhh. Uhhhhh....
  • Increase activity (non-work related)!
  • Travel once a month!
  • At least 3 debts paid off!
  • More time with family!
  • More contact with friends I miss!
  • Volunteer!
  • Save, save, save!

If I end each of them with exclamation points, that means they have more likelihood of becoming reality, right?

In general, Christmas was good. Minimal arguing and maximum family time. I missed my great grandfather, but I'm hoping I will get to see him on my next trip down. I received fun gifts, such as these fine items. My absolute favorite gift was the electric water kettles given by mom/dad AND h, b, & emmy. It all works out though, since I may need a spare with all the water I am boiling for my PGTips.

Work is... well, work. The SeafoodJoint almost made me quit last week. My holiday time put in there: Xmas eve (double), New Years Eve (double), and New Years Day ( double). I'm at the end of my rope, but I had a REALLY good night on Monday. Damn money making me doubt my priorities! I may end up babysitting a couple more days a week for Silver Sprung moms. Who knows? Not me!

Peace, love and happiness in 2007!
