And So the Pendulum Swings

I have less than 10 days left on the east coast. And I'm truly becoming more and more excited every second. I feel like I'm back in Vegas: standing at the end of a platform on a 17 story high crane, ready to jump with nothing more than a rubber rope on my feet.
"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do"
I carried that quote by Eleanor Roosevelt with me the entire time in Vegas. My heart still races wildly when I remember looking down to the swimming pool below more than 3 years ago. I can't say that I would want to do it again and again, but I don't regret it at all. I know I'll say the same about moving my life almost 3000 miles away from what I know as my home.

I have always been under the impression that there are highs and lows in life that make it all interesting. Sometimes its really hard to deal with the lows, especially when they come one after another. The past month has been really difficult. I won't go into all of the silly little details, but just know that things are looking up.

Shorts

My sister is married. I'm the old maid in the family! Heh heh heh.

I'm sick. And/or have a really bad case of allergy related sinus problems.

I'm up between 6-8am every morning. This isn't such a bad thing.

I'm leaving around May 27th.

I still have too much to do before I go.

Paulo wants to go to Egypt, and as his traveling partner, guess where I might be going in September?

I hate dating (just thought I should throw that one in there).

Crazy Dreams

One of my moms- murdered by her husband. He wanted me to still watch the kids.

I delivered my sister's baby, a girl.

Last night (5/11) I was robbed while in a foreign country. All that I had on me was my cell phone. I was travelling with Mike and Maddie. They were trying to solve a case.

Guilty Pleasures #298

Teen movies. Especially those with Amanda Bynes or Anne Hathaway. I don't care what you think of me. Ok, maybe just a little.

Happy Birthday Bee! I love you! You're awesome!

Almost Ready

Lucy was born last week. I'll take my last exam tomorrow. I have pared down all of my belongings to fit in my car. The boy seems mute, and therefore moot.

What's left?

File court papers to get $800 back from the little bastards I used to live with, renew tags for MD one last time, and get rid of my furniture.

But on the top of the list?

Savor time with family and friends. Realize that there will be people I love that I will never see again. Don't break down daily from the sweet and wonderful things my kids do. Don't doubt. Don't regret. Look forward.

Just trying to keep my shit together* right now. Cyndi helps. Especially @ 1:25**.

*i.e. trying to keep my mental health, uh... healthy.
**Not referring to the time right now. Check the video.
