Also Stuck

Adele's Chasing Pavements:

I've made up my mind,
Don't need to think it over
If I'm wrong, I am right
Don't need to look no further,
This ain't lust
I know this is love
But, if I tell the world
I'll never say enough
'cause it was not said to you
And that's exactly what I need to do
If I end up with you

Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasin' pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there
Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasin' pavements
Even if it leads nowhere

I build myself up
And fly around in circles
Waitin' as my heart drops
And my back begins to tingle
Finally, could this be it

Or should I give up
Or should I just keep chasin' pavements
Even if it leads nowhere
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there

Should I give up
Or should I just keep chasin' pavements
Even if it leads nowhere
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place should I leave it there
Should I give up
Or should I just keep on chasin' pavements
Should I just keep no chasin' pavements

Stuck in my Brain

Jack Johnson's No Other Way:

When your mind is a mess
so is mine
I cant sleep
cause it hurts when I think
My thoughts aren't at peace
with the plans that we make
chances we take
they're, not yours they're not mine
there's waves that can break
all the words that we said
and the words that we mean
words can fall short
can't see the unseen
cause the world is awake
for somebody's sake now, please close your eyes woman
please get some sleep

And know that if I knew
all of the answers I would
not hold them from you
know all of the things that i'd know
we told each other, there is no other way

Well too much silence can be misleading
You're drifting I can hear it in the way that you're breathing
We don't really need to find reason
Cause out the same door that it came well its leaving its leaving
Leaving like a day that’s done and part of a season
Resolve is just a concept that's as dead as the leaves
But at least we can sleep, its all that we need
When we wake we will find
Our minds will be free to go to sleep

And know that if I knew
all of the answers I would
not hold them from you
know all of the things that i'd know 'cause
we told each other, there is no other way

Epic Fail

I'm tired. Ok, right now, I'm not so tired because I slept in until 1030a. But I've been incredibly tired the past 2 weeks. So tired that I have to look at my shoes two or three times when I'm walking about the door to make sure they match. So tired that I forget what day it is (I haven't shown up to the wrong job/class- yet).

Next week- trying again for 7 hours of sleep a night. Trying to work ahead in homework to make that possible. Trying to get other stuff off my brain. And.... go!

told ya

I'm not so good at everyday!

However...
Housemate and I were enjoying beer and pizza on Friday night when our neighbor on the next stool remarked that he was curious where we were on 9/11. I was at work, finding terps. L was in college, about to get up for the day. Our new friend? In middle school.

The saddest person in the world

Ack school, work, life... writing is not priority.

However I will leave you with this:

Looking for the Beautiful

Today and yesterday were both all about looking for beauty in strange/common places.

We were lucky enough to have stunning blue skies most of those two days. I did however get great pictures of snow/hail with the sun shining brightly in the background. So help me Seattle, I think I love your bi-polarness.

I took note of lovely skies, stunning mountain ranges, and interesting faces. After a lengthy online discussion about macroeconomics and socio-economic disparities, I was able to spend 45 minutes with an 83 year old. 7 hours of work and two Bubba birthday drinks later- I'm tired. My brain is full. My heart is full.

I have an incredibly long week ahead of me. My goal is to sleep 7 hours a night for 4 out of 7 days. Seems like a simple plan, no?

Exhausted

Busy busy busy week.

I really love my job sometimes.

I get to party with the Monkeys tomorrow (as in the Monkey Pub people).

I have lots of other crap on my mind, but am exhausted. Sorry!

When is April done...??

Liz knows what to say

I know it's just a drawer of photographs
They're ex-girlfriends, I try to remember that
I don't wanna look, but I'm already hooked on jealousy
Jealousy

I can't believe you had a life before me
I can't believe they let you run around free
Just putting your body wherever it seemed like a good idea
What a good idea

Standing on the corner watching the ladies pass by
Imagining me behind your eyes
And what did I see?
I saw hips, I saw thighs
I saw secret positions that we never try
I saw jealousy
I saw jealousy

I can't, I can't believe it
But it's here in this place and I see it
It's all I can do to conceal my feelings of jealousy
Jealousy

Standing on the mudflats watching the salmon fly
Wonder if I'll ever bury the hatchet inside
Imagining me behind your eyes
And what did I see?
I saw hips, I saw thighs
I saw secret positions that we never try
I saw jealousy
I saw jealousy

I can't believe you had a life before me
I can't believe they let you run around free
Just putting your body wherever it seemed like a good idea
What a good idea

Mr Penis Van

A couple kid stories to entertain you:

My 3.5 year old ward, Liam, has a green matchbox van he likes to stick in his pant pockets. The other day, with the van in his hand, and the hand in the pant pocket, he asked me how I liked his "Penis Van".

5 minutes later, I realized Snoopy was on the van...

This from the kid who told me his penis was bigger than mine, in front of a male barista. And I wonder why I might have thought he was saying Penis Van. Ha.

A Haiku for Chemistry

Oh, dear Chemistry
I like the prospect of labs
Lab notebooks: not fond.

I will be content
when I get my four point oh
in this silly class.

Littlest Birds Sing the Prettiest Songs

My kid Sky was singing to her new blue Crocs tonight. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Blue shoes, I love you.

Rather than complain about current events, I give you this.

Disappointed

Long week
Hard week
Anxiety-filled week
Mid-week surprise kissing
Anticipation of week end
Weeks without physical intimacy
Longing for week end
Needing week end
Week end arrives

I was sleeping.

Weak response.
How many more weeks?

Headache

Classes started with a bang this week.

730am class, 5 days a week, for 10 weeks. I've started eating breakfast daily, mostly to pad my stomach for the caffeine consumption. After a little nap on Thursday, I woke up with a massive migraine. There was crying in front of the toilet involved. 2 ibuprofen, 20 minutes of extreme stillness, and 2 hours more of napping made it mostly better.

I'm really happy with my professors so far this quarter. After having the man who liked to talk God in his Anatomy class ("...and now God pushes a limb out...") and the knowledgeable, but sadistic professor who wanted us to spend 8 hours a day just on her class, it's refreshing not wanting to throw shit at the person leading.

Oops

It seems as though I already messed up this everyday thing!

I'll just say... April Fools!

I did write something, but I kept it from you as an April Fools Joke. Good one, huh?
