Let's see. Where did I leave off last week? I had a really good time hanging out with my family. I only wish we could do it under better circumstances. I saw Evan, Jess' new son, on Tuesday. He's so alert! And so adorable! I figured out how the girl in my last post fit into my life 10 years ago. She is the cousin to one of my good friends from that period. I used to love waiting on her grandparents at the restaurant.
The biggest surprise of last week was the funeral. It was led by a married couple: male and female preachers. Although I can't say that it was particular moving (thank God the bagpipes weren't there this time... I would have been a mess). I was truly inspired by the presence and leadership of a woman in the Episcopal church. I almost wanted to go see them in action during a Sunday. Ok. Maybe just for a second. Moment passed. Maybe if they were lesbians?
It was also good to see my grandmother up moving around. At Nannie's funeral, I was worried about her being in a wheelchair. This time she was getting around A-OK. I'm hoping that the doctor's suggestion that Grandaddy should be getting more exercise is being taken seriously by both of them. I doubt it, but I hope so.
I'm thoughtful tonight. I have a date tomorrow night that I am really excited about. I can't wait to go to Martha's Vineyard with Jules and Rach. I'm going to go zone out now to VMars, Season 2. Have I mentioned my love of TV on DVD?
